# Introduction to Dashboards
## How to navigate CARMA's analytics dashboards and visualise your PR results.
In this guide, we’ll walk you through how to navigate and make the most of the **Dashboards**. Whether you're exploring pre-built dashboards or managing your own, this tutorial will show you how to effectively interact with the platform.
### 1. Accessing Dashboards
To get started, navigate to the **Overview** section from the main menu and select **Dashboards**. This will take you to your analytics homepage, where you can view, create, and share dashboards.
### 2. Types of Dashboards
Your dashboards are organized into two main categories:
- **Public Dashboards**: These are visible to all project users and provide a collaborative view of the data.
- **Private Dashboards**: These dashboards are only accessible to the individual user who created them.
For this tutorial, we’ll focus on **pre-built public dashboards** to demonstrate some key actions and filtering options available to you.
### 3. Applying Filters to Your Dashboard
At the top of each dashboard page, you’ll find filters that allow you to refine the data displayed on your widgets. Here’s how to use them:
- **Calendar Icon**: Clicking this icon allows you to choose from preset date ranges or set custom dates. The data in your widgets will update instantly to reflect the chosen time frame.
- **Filter Icon**: Clicking this will open a list of additional global widget filters. You can add as many filters as you need to narrow down your data. For example, you could filter results by sentiment, region, or content type.
Once you’re satisfied with your selected filters, click **Save and Close** to apply the changes and view your updated widgets.
### 4. Understanding Widgets
Widgets are the interactive elements such as charts, filters, or KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) that make up your analytics dashboard. Every widget on your dashboard is interactive, meaning you can dive deeper into the data by simply clicking on it.
For example:
- If you click into the positive section of a **Sentiment Donut Chart**, you’ll be taken to a list of articles that are marked with positive sentiment within your specified search.
### 5. Arranging and Styling Your Dashboard
You can customize your dashboard layout and the appearance of your widgets using the tools provided in the top-right corner of each widget. Here are the options:
- **Move Icon**: Drag and reposition widgets to organize your dashboard in a way that makes the most sense for your workflow.
- **Resize Icon**: Use this icon to adjust the size of your widgets. This can help you prioritize larger, more important widgets while reducing the size of less critical ones.
- **Chart Type Icon**: Change the visual representation of your data by selecting different chart types. For example, switch from a bar chart to a pie chart for a different perspective.
- **Actions Icon**: This icon gives you options to export, copy, edit, or remove the widget. Exporting is especially useful for sharing specific data visualizations in reports or presentations.
