Articles: How to View and Filter Articles

Introduction to viewing, filtering, and sorting articles on the Articles Page.

In this guide, we’ll walk you through how to view, filter, and sort articles on the Articles Page. This tutorial will help you make the most of your project’s results across different media types and regions.

1. Accessing the Articles Page

To get started, navigate to the Articles Page from the main navigation menu. This is where you can view all your project’s results and apply various filters to refine your search.

2. Viewing Your Results

On the Articles Page, your results are displayed in the main body of the screen. Each article is represented in its own article block, giving you a summary of the most important information.

3. Using Filters to Refine Your Search

At the top of the Articles Page, you’ll find various filters that allow you to narrow down the articles displayed based on your needs.

Key Filter Options:

  • Calendar Icon: Use this to set a specific time period for your search. Your results will automatically update to show articles from that time frame.

  • Text Search Bars:

    • All Text: Use this search bar to look for keywords within the entire body of an article or post.
    • Headline Text: Use this search bar to find keywords specifically in the headline of an article or post.
  • Show Filters Icon: Clicking this icon will display more advanced filters, including:

    • Tags
    • Sentiment
    • Media Types
    • Country

For a complete list of filters and their specific use cases, you can refer to the help center.

4. Example of Applying Filters

Let’s practice using filters to refine our search. In this example, we’ll filter the search to display all online articles about Tesla from the United Kingdom with positive sentiment.

  1. Use the Tags filter to search for articles tagged with "Tesla."
  2. Apply the Sentiment filter to show only positive articles.
  3. Use the Media Types filter to limit results to online articles.
  4. Finally, use the Outlet Country filter to focus on articles from the United Kingdom.

After applying these filters, you’ll have a refined list of articles matching your specific criteria.

5. Sorting Articles

Once you’ve filtered your articles, you can sort them based on different parameters. To do this, use the Actions Bar at the top of the page. By default, articles are sorted by Published Time, but you can change this sorting order.

For example, if you’d like to view the articles by Impressions:

  1. Select the sorting option for Impressions in the actions bar.
  2. The articles will now be arranged based on the number of impressions, showing the most-viewed articles first.

6. Understanding Article Blocks

Each article is presented in its own article block. Here’s what you can find in each block:

  • The Outlet Name is shown at the top of the block. If it’s an online article, you’ll also see a source link that directs you to the original content.
  • The Article Headline is displayed in the body of the block, followed by a preview of the first few words of the article.
  • On the right side of the block, you’ll see the Published Date, Sentiment, and the first article image.
  • At the bottom of the block, the unique Tags associated with the article are shown. You’ll also see Impression Data in the bottom-right corner.

7. Viewing an Article in Detail

To view more details about an article, simply click on the article block. This will open a new Article Pop-out Page, where you can:

  • View a summary of the article.
  • Access the full article text, if available.
  • See Meta Data and Audience Data on the right-hand side.

When you’re done, you can return to the full Articles Page by clicking the Close Icon.

Congratulations!
