Introduction to CARMA Social

In this tutorial, we will walk you through the basic features of CARMA Social, where you can monitor, engage with, and understand the performance of your earned and owned social media posts. Let’s begin with an overview of the platform and how to navigate your dashboards.

1. Accessing CARMA Social

To get started, navigate to the Social section in the main menu and select Professional. This will take you to the CARMA Social homepage.

Here, you can:

  • Monitor social media activity
  • Connect with your audience
  • Engage with posts
  • Understand the performance of both earned and owned social content

2. Understanding the Dashboard Categories

Your CARMA Social dashboards are organized into four main categories:

  • Main Dashboards: These provide an overview of key metrics and charts, as well as a feeds dashboard displaying social media results.
  • Public Dashboards: These dashboards are visible to all project users.
  • Private Dashboards: Dashboards accessible only to individual users for private insights.
  • Channels: This section stores analytics and performance data for your company’s owned social media posts.

For this tutorial, we will focus on the Overview Dashboard to demonstrate the various actions and filters available for all your dashboards.

3. Using Filters in CARMA Social

At the top of each dashboard page, you’ll find pinned filters that allow you to refine the data displayed on your dashboard. Here’s how they work:

  • Calendar Icon: Click on this icon to select preset date ranges or set custom dates. The dashboard data will update instantly based on your selection.
  • Filter Icon: Clicking this icon opens a list of additional filters. You can add as many filters as necessary to refine your results. Common filters include social media platforms, keywords, sentiment, and geographic locations.

Tip: As you scroll through the dashboard, any applied filters will remain visible at the top of the page.

4. Saving and Managing Filters

If you frequently apply the same filters, you can save them for future use:

  • Click the Save Search icon to store your filter settings.
  • You can also set default search filters or edit previously saved filters for efficiency in future reports.

5. Refreshing Data

To refresh your dashboard data, click the Refresh Icon at the top of the page. You can also enable Auto-Refresh and set a preferred interval for automatic data updates, ensuring you’re always viewing the most recent information.

6. Actions Icon for Sharing and Managing Dashboards

The Actions Icon located in the top-right corner of the dashboard provides several key features for sharing and managing your dashboards. These features allow you to export reports, schedule updates, and more. We’ll cover these options in detail in a separate tutorial.
