Meta has introduced significant changes to the metrics available through the Facebook Graph API. These changes affect how Facebook performance data is collected, processed, and reported across CARMA Socials.
As of 15 November 2025, several key metrics are fully deprecated by Meta and replaced with new metrics. Carma Socials is updating its internal data model, dashboards, widgets, and API responses to align with Meta’s updated standards.
Meta removed access to several long-standing metrics, including:
- Page Impressions
- Post Impressions
- Impression breakdowns (Paid / Organic)
- Page Fans (Page Likes)
- Page Fans by Location (City, Country, Language)
These metrics are no longer accessible through Facebook’s API, and therefore cannot be refreshed, updated, or queried after the deprecation date.
Meta is moving toward:
- more privacy-compliant metrics
- more view-based metrics instead of impression-based
- unified reporting across Facebook surfaces
These changes require all Facebook integration partners—including Carma—to transition away from the legacy metrics.
Below is an expanded view of how Carma Socials now replaces the deprecated metrics:
|
Deprecated Metric |
Replacement in Carma Socials |
Explanation |
|---|---|---|
| Page Impressions | Profile Views (KPI updated) | Meta now reports actual page views instead of impressions generated through feed exposure. As a result, the Profile Views KPI is now calculated using the Media Views metric rather than the deprecated Page Impressions metric. |
| Post Impressions | Post Views (post-level) | Counts when a post is actually viewed, rather than simply appearing in someone’s feed. The post impressions will be counted on media-view metric rather the deprecated impression metric. |
| Page Likes | Page Followers (KPI already exists) | Facebook is phasing out Likes; Follows represent active audience interest. |
| Page New Likes | New Page Followers (KPI already exists) | Facebook is phasing out New Likes; New Follows represent active audience interest. |
| Audience Followers by City | Followers by City (New widget) | Tracks follower growth and distribution by city. |
| Audience Followers Country | Followers by Country (New widget) | Provides geographic segmentation by country based on followers |
To maintain full continuity across our reporting and content displays, Carma Socials has automatically migrated all Facebook-related elements, including:
- Facebook Channel Dashboard, along with all widgets tied to Likes KPIs and Audience Profile data.
- Dashboards containing Facebook widgets associated with Impressions metrics.
- Social Feeds and Articles Listings featuring Facebook posts.
- API integrations, migrated where technically feasible.
As part of this update, all sections that previously reported the “Impressions” metric now display the “Media Views” metric, applied at either the profile or post level depending on context.
- Naming such as “Impressions” may still appear in the UI for consistency across platforms like X, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc. but displays the “Media Views” metric
- Facebook data delivered after Nov 15, 2025 will be based solely on Views, not Impressions.
- Some metrics will no longer have language/locale details.
